It's easier to just go with the flow.

It's a great time of year to work at a University. The first semester has just begun and the campus is alive with market stalls, music and young minds ready to learn...or unlearn...depending on which way you perceive it.

Today a DJ was set up in the Union Court playing progressive trance accompanied by a live violinist, bassoonist and a girl playing drums. It sounded...how should I say? Noisy!? But it was interesting all the same and added a unique vibe to the lunch time crowd. I love the diversity of this place. It keeps me interested.

I went for a walk yesterday lunch time and took the above photo. This little critter didn't seem too phased by the humans hanging around it. The piece of food in its paws was part of an apple...even though it looks like a sandwich triangle. Weird. That's what I like about working here...I can simply walk out of my building and encounter possums eating apples or listen to a DJ playing dance music during my lunch break. Going with the flow is much easier than trying to fight it.

It's so safe to play along,
Little soldiers in a row.
Falling in and out of love,
Something sweet to throw away.
I want something good to die for,
To make it beautiful to live.
I want a new mistake, lose is more than hesitate.
Do you believe it in your head?
I can go with the flow. - Joshua Homme

Nowhere Man

What does one say when one is potentially speaking (typing?) to no-one? I don't know. Right now I'm at work. I should be working. But I'm not. I am so easily distracted it's not funny. My employer would not be impressed. I consider myself to be a passionate person but my 9 to 5 routine is quite good at sucking my passion away.

Music has always been an outlet but even that is unsatisfying at the moment. I need a change. I should start my own band. I don't want complete control but a stronger influence would be nice. It's never really been a democracy...politics always rules the decisions. And it gets us nowhere.
..

He's a real nowhere man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere Man please listen,
You don't know what you're missing,
Nowhere Man,the world is at your command! ~ John Lennon and Paul McCarthy
